Aurora Fox Valley Inn

There were drug deals happening repeatedly through the night, and the hotel was a bad experience all around. Our room smelled horrible and was very dated, and the bathroom was filthy. The pool was meant to be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., but it never opened while we were there. The daytime desk attendant told my children it didn’t open until noon and said checkout was at 10 a.m., even though checkout was actually at noon and the pool was supposed to open at 9.

The friendly staff could be a bit more attentive. The motel being next door creates busy, questionable, unnecessary traffic. There’s a small bar inside the motel b, but it has short hours. The place is decently priced and clean, with an outdoor pool. Papa Bear restaurant is just a short walk away in the same parking lot, with reasonable prices and traditional American food.

The rooms were relatively clean, but they smelled like smoke, possibly weed. There’s no breakfast and no refrigerator in the rooms, and the weight room doesn’t have a treadmill. I wouldn’t recommend staying unless you really need the cheapest option.

I found this place online and rent here long term. The bed is comfortable, and the vending machine prices are reasonable. It’s just okay, a place to lay your head, not the Ritz. Some upgrades would be nice, though I figure that would mean higher prices.
