DoubleTree by Hilton Denver - Aurora

Kristin, Leycha, and Kevin were wonderful to our family during a stressful three weeks between homes. We used the pool nearly every day, enjoyed the tasty breakfast, and found the rooms nice. My family stays here when they visit, too. We’re glad we chose it and will definitely come back. It’s our favorite hotel.

The TV and cable setup was frustrating: the TVs weren’t smart, and the guide and menu buttons didn’t work even though the screen said to press them. The hotel didn’t seem concerned about fixing it. Otherwise, it’s a nice place, with spacious rooms, a microwave and fridge, a good restaurant, and great cookies. The bathroom is small, though I appreciated the shampoo and other bottles. I liked having the pool and hot tub. The Hilton app listed them as open 24/7, which wasn’t right, but they were still open later than at most places.

After a long drive, that shower was just what I needed. The water pressure and flow were great. Check-in was pleasant, the room was clean, and there are lots of places to eat nearby.

I was trying to reach my brother before he checked out because I had his phone, but the front desk wasn’t helpful. I couldn’t leave a message, and they wouldn’t simply let him know at checkout that someone had been trying to contact him about his phone. That was the most disappointing part. The hotel is older, and its last remodel seemed to have been over a decade ago, when many amenities were removed. The pool was nice, but the hot tub wasn’t close to hot. There were also coffee grounds left in the maker from the previous guest, so housekeeping apparently hadn’t checked it.
