Knights Inn Aurora

I feel bad for the employees, honestly. This place seems hopeless, abandoned, and forgotten. I’m not exaggerating with 1/5 stars. The carpet is old and beat up, and it looks like it hasn’t been vacuumed in forever. The sheets barely fit over the exposed mattress, and the comforter was torn, worn, and stained. Some friends and I stopped here after camping because we wanted a cheap place, but we should’ve spent the extra $15-$20 for somewhere nicer. The place felt sketchy and hard to call respectable. Save yourself the disappointment and go somewhere else.

The room was really clean, the towels were fluffy and fresh smelling, and the bed felt almost brand new and was firm. I slept extremely comfortably. I checked carefully for bugs, as I do at every hotel because I have a three year old son, and there were NO bugs. The AC actually blew cold air. I’d recommend this hotel again and again. This place isn’t for the faint of heart. It’s in a bad location, there are probably drugs, and the girls work all day and all night. I’ve seen people complain in reviews about the sketchy feel, but if you want better accommodations, why not stay at the Hilton Garden Inn? Probably because you’re cheap and wouldn’t pay that much. This hotel is doing the best it can with what it has. They’ve put a lot of love and renovations into most rooms since buying it not long ago. It’s AFFORDABLE for people in need. Stop complaining and be grateful for what you have.

There was a wreck at the parking lot entrance and the traffic was crazy. It took ages to go a mile just to reach the place. The walls don’t block sound, and with nonstop traffic, honking, and engine noise, I got no sleep. After driving such a long way, I really needed it. The staff had our reservation but hadn’t stocked the room for two people, and they were cold. If you like feeling like you’re in a rat race, then this is your kind of place.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the prices are inexpensive. But the neighborhood doesn’t feel safe, and the rooms are much older. There were burn holes in the comforters even though it’s a non smoking building. Summer is a better time to stay, but I wouldn’t stay long because it can draw an unsavory crowd.
