The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club

The artwork was breathtaking, and the whole hotel was beautiful, with so much care put into the details. The owner did an outstanding job, no expense was spared. Amanda and MJ were incredibly kind at 4:30 in the morning. They even took me on a tour, and it was spectacular. They treated me like a guest in their home. I absolutely love this hotel, and I’ll definitely be back.

A Juliet balcony is worth asking for. The fresh air and sunlight coming into the room felt luxurious. Fresh flowers in the lobby, refreshed weekly, and thoughtfully chosen artwork also made the spaces feel vivid and beautiful. I’m grateful to the Benson Hotel’s staff and management for their consistent care during my extended stay. They made me feel safe and respected. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, and with my environmental sensitivities I found it safe and healing to stay there. It’s also close to world class medical care in Aurora.

The room had a sliding bathroom door with a huge gap, so there was no privacy. I also had internet trouble and got no help with it. The hotel itself was clean, nice, and well appointed, but the service was a major disappointment. Front desk staff on both shifts were unhelpful and came across as arrogant. Their “complimentary” parking was a joke: I spent 20 minutes struggling with a broken QR code and ended up having to pay for valet. They also don’t mention when you book that the lot is a 10-minute walk away. It’s a shame the hotel has potential, but the poor service and missing basics left a bad taste.

The Common Good has delicious food. I’ve eaten there for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and everything has been appetizing. I stayed at The Benson this past weekend and visit often for leisure. It’s a stunning hidden gem in Aurora!
