We came for a family vacation and stayed about a week, though we ended up leaving two days early. The room was decent and the place felt clean and safe, so we were grateful to have somewhere to sleep. The mattresses were so soft that our backs hurt. But the amenities and service were a real hit or miss. The indoor pool was one of the main reasons we chose this hotel, but it was freezing, and we couldn’t use it at all during our stay. We reported it, and the front desk said they’d get a repair person, but nothing changed. The Wi-Fi also didn’t work the whole time, so we had to use hotspots and other ways to get online. One of the TVs in our Queen suite, the one by the couch, had lines across the screen and didn’t work. Neither TV had HDMI hookups or seemed updated for using them. The first person who checked us in was nice. After that, several of the women at the front desk were rude and dismissive, and seemed annoyed that people were around. The older gentleman was slow, but very kind. Breakfast could’ve been better. The woman making it was reliable, and I appreciated the turkey sausage and veggie omelets for vegetarians and people who don’t eat pork, as well as the almond milk for those avoiding cow’s milk. But the menu stayed exactly the same Monday through Friday. Since guests on weeklong vacations spend most of their time at the hotel during the week, a little variety would’ve been appreciated. The eggs, especially the omelets, were dry and burnt most of the time.

We stopped here to sleep on the drive home from Florida and arrived just before midnight. The small selection of food for sale meant we didn’t have to look for a restaurant, and the breakfast the next morning was impressive for an included hotel meal, with lots of choices. The service was excellent, and the room was spotless. Our standard double queen was spacious and clean, with a tiled kitchenette and entry area holding a coffee pod machine, microwave, and mini fridge. The carpeted sleeping area had very comfortable beds, and the bathroom came stocked with Dove products. Some reviews mentioned crime nearby, but we didn’t feel unsafe during our stay. We’d be happy to stay again.

The staff were the highlight of our stay. Everyone we dealt with, including Mighty Michelle, Bruiser Bruce, Alonzo, Kelsey, and Austin, was friendly and accommodating. Our housekeeper was lovely too, though we didn’t catch her name. Alonzo also kindly brought us the hot cinnamon buns at breakfast, which made the standard Holiday Inn breakfast a treat. We had a spacious, clean king suite with a kitchenette, hot plate, sink, large fridge, and dishwasher. The pots were poor quality but did the job, and I was glad I’d brought a can opener because the one provided didn’t work. There wasn’t enough lighting in the room. Parking cost $5, which annoyed me since I’d rather have that included in the room price.

The location was good and the hotel was clean. It looked newly remodeled, but the room doors seemed older and hadn’t been updated. There was a crack under our door where I could see straight into the hallway. I put a chair in front of it for the night, which helped, though it still felt like a security concern. The two women we spoke with who worked there were great, and breakfast was decent.

Our room was a suite, and it was more than I expected. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was one of the best we’ve had at a Holiday Inn. We had a great experience and would stay again. Thank you!
