Woodspring Suites Petersburg Near Fort Lee

The hotel was brand new and very clean, but the beds were as hard as concrete. Front desk staff seemed confused about what they were doing. They charged my card three times for a one-night stay, though that was resolved. We had a dog and understood there would be a $50 pet fee. They charged the card, then said the payment hadn't gone through and charged again. I ended up with two pet-fee charges. When I called to ask about the second one, they said it was for two missing pillows. They claimed no one else had access to the room, but how could they know the cleaner hadn't miscounted or misplaced them? I've worked in travel for 25 years and traveled extensively, and I've never been accused of stealing from a hotel or anywhere else. They didn't just accuse me of taking pillows, they basically called me a liar too. This isn't even about the charge now, it's the accusation. We were among the first guests at this property, and it was a terrible start. I'd never recommend this hotel or any Choice Hotel to a client again.

There's a car wash next door, and Walmart and places to eat are just minutes away. This new extended-stay hotel was very clean, with spotless showers. Everyone greeted me warmly and was exceptionally polite. I'll choose it again when I visit town.

The room was spotless, nicely appointed, and really comfortable. From the moment we arrived, the service was impeccable, and every staff member went out of their way to help. We’ll definitely be back!

Clean and convenient to I-95, and it's a brand new hotel. Pets are welcome, though $63 for one night felt a bit high. Check-in took a while, with lots of paperwork to sign, and there's a charge for any extra linens. Four stars overall.
