Econo Lodge Petersburg - Fort Lee

This place felt frightening. A car sped through the parking lot and nearly hit my husband and me, and it happened twice. The property was run down all over, and we couldn’t bring ourselves to sleep or shower there. I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels, but this was the worst I’ve ever seen. Don’t stay here.

Room 105 had bed bugs, and nobody came to the service window. The place was nasty. I’ve stayed in much better hotels for the same price. Don’t go here!

The price was good, and the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. But the room clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long while. After showering, my feet were dirtier than before, and the grime on the baseboards and fridge was gross. I peeked into the vacant room next door, and it didn’t look much better. Good price, but bring cleaning supplies.

The room was in awful shape, from the curtains and furniture to the bathroom. It felt as if the hotel had been abandoned, and many lights and outlets didn’t work. I’d booked a nonsmoking room, expecting it to be like other Econo Lodge locations I’ve stayed at, but on arrival I was told only smoking rooms were left. The receptionist was very standoffish and refused to refund my money. I’ll be contacting Choice Hotels about how disgraceful this property is.
