AMLI On 2nd by The Guild Downtown 2nd St

Update: I’m disappointed that some of the perks have been cut back during the month I’ve lived here. They removed the complimentary coffee machine, which people may not have used much, but I expected it to remain given the $4.5K rent and luxury-building pitch. Guest parking validation used to be free for six or 12 hours; now only two hours are free. I appreciate that two hours are still included, but it means I have to pay for parking for housekeepers, dog sitters, and others. I still love the building’s quality, soundproofing, layouts, and friendly staff. Heather was very helpful while we looked for the right unit. We enjoy the big dog park on the fifth floor, spacious gym, two large pools, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The soundproofing works so well I can’t hear my neighbors inside my units.

Cameron was really helpful when I toured the property on behalf of a client. I’m a locator, and she suggested other units my client might like, then clearly went over the specials and monthly fees. I’m looking forward to working with her again.

This area feels mostly geared toward tourists. The real activity is over by trader Joe's, where you can find a cheaper place outside the tourist zone. Three floors of this complex are reserved for hotel guests, which says a lot. I don’t think living here would improve your status much. The view is nice, but you’ll probably feel lonely and unwelcome.

I’ve been here for over six months and really enjoy living here. The apartment, views, location, and parking have all been great, better than I expected. There are a few hiccups, but they get resolved in a timely way. My only real complaint is that leases are only available for 12 months. Maybe I’ll write a longer review later.
