We had a comfortable bed, a big bathroom, and everything we needed. The room was fairly basic, but had fun design touches that nodded to the motel’s old roots. Check-in was easy, and the person who helped us was very helpful. We stayed in a king suite overlooking the pool; there wasn’t much to look at, but it was a nice room. The heated pool was beautiful, and there was a fun party one day with drag queens singing and dancing. The Austin Motel is a fun place to stay, an old motel turned into a nice hotel right in the middle of the action. I’d definitely recommend it.

Front desk service was great, and the view was good, but the walls and door are thin enough that you can easily hear noise. There’s an early checkout penalty, which is dumb. NO gym. I wouldn’t choose it for business travel, though it could be good for regular tourism.

It has a cool old-school vibe, and there’s a bar in the courtyard, a heated pool, and a fantastic dinner spot connected to the motel. The people who run it are top-notch and do a lot to keep guests comfortable with their service and amenities. I’ll definitely be back.

The location is amazing and worth the price, and free parking is a great bonus. It’s a cute, quirky hotel at a great price. There’s no iron in the room or microwave, and we really need a microwave, but we managed. The front desk heated our food for us. If you like places that are different and unique, this one’s for you!

The location is the only thing worth anything here. The rooms are among the oldest and most run-down I’ve seen, though somehow they’ve caught the interest of the kitsch crowd. There are no security cameras. After another vehicle’s alarm went off at 3am and their “security team” showed up, my truck was damaged in the parking lot. Hyatt refused to do anything. There are much nicer rooms across the river for the same price.
