avid hotel Austin – Tech Ridge

After a long flight from California, my food delivery was mistakenly left at the hotel across the street from TownePlace Suites Marriott. I went to the front desk for help retrieving it, but the person there, who said they were the general manager, wouldn't let me get it and told me to "let it go" because someone had probably taken it. I wasn't staying there, but this only called for basic courtesy and cooperation. Instead, I got dismissiveness and no empathy, which was especially disappointing from someone in management. I work in hospitality and provide excellent service to guests every day, so I found the interaction unacceptable. It wasn't professional or caring. If that person really was the general manager, their handling of it is concerning. I hope this feedback is taken seriously and front desk service expectations are addressed. People traveling a long way deserve respect, help, and basic understanding. In the pictures, my door is white and theirs is dark. Apparently the cameras were checked, but they couldn't identify which room it was. For me, the principle of the whole thing matters.

Sheree at the front desk made sure we got great service every day. The hotel was clean, and we liked the breakfast choices and little extras like coffee, sparkling water, and a gym open around the clock. It was our first stay and we had a great time. Our standard king room was nice and worked for us, though it felt cramped. Next time we’d choose a double for the extra space.

Avid is my regular choice when I travel for work because the experience is so consistent. The rooms are the cleanest I’ve found at any hotel, and the staff are always warm and helpful. Thanks especially to Tish and the rest of the team for making this stay so easy and comfortable. 10/10, especially if you want somewhere clean and comfortable.

The room was on the small side, but it was laid out well and made good use of the space. This is a clean, convenient place, and the free continental breakfast was a nice extra. I’ve stayed at other Austin hotels and would pick this one over them. Getting to the highway is easy, and there’s a gas station right next door.
