Best Western Atrium North

The indoor pool was the reason we picked this hotel when I stayed with my son and nephew in March 2017. It was warm and very nice, though there were some bugs and other things floating in it. The rest of our stay was lovely. Our reservation was made in advance and the room was ready as expected. The front office was pleasant and helped with everything we needed. Breakfast was the best continental one we’ve had anywhere, with a huge range of food and a grill where the cook made eggs however you asked. My son Travis was especially excited to find a room on the fourth floor named after him. It made for a wonderful vacation memory, and I’d definitely recommend the place.

That breakfast really impressed me. There was bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy, waffles, cereal, bagels, toast, oatmeal, and fresh fruit. Plenty to feed a king! The room was cozy and the bed felt like sleeping on a cloud. I kept noticing a funny odor, but otherwise I was fully satisfied. The hotel also locks its doors from the inside automatically after a certain time. The night attendant buzzes visitors in and asks for the name and room number of the guest they’re visiting. I’d recommend staying here.

For $40 a night over three days, it wasn’t terrible, and there were no bed bugs. But the lobbyist was rude and snippy whenever we interacted. The room was odd too: there was no wall between the room and shower, just a curtain leading straight into the room. The shower door and hair dryer were both broken. When we left, they said they’d known about the problems before we arrived and booked, but chose not to fix them. That seems questionable to me.

The bed was comfortable, so this could work if you only need somewhere to sleep for one night. I wouldn’t recommend staying longer. The cleanliness and comfort were fair, but there are serious issues for anything beyond a very brief visit. As other reviewers have said, there’s no hot water, so you’ll have to take a cold shower. During my stay, I also couldn’t connect any of my devices to the wifi because the connection page wouldn’t load.
