Candlewood Suites Austin Airport by IHG

The road noise kept going all night. At other hotels I’ve stayed at, it usually dies down between about 10pm and 5am, but here it was the worst I’ve ever experienced. My watch recorded just 4 hours of actual sleep out of 7.5. I think the desk should have put us in a quieter room on the other side of the hotel. It could have made a big difference. The bed was uncomfortable, and my wife thought the room smelled funny. Apart from those three problems, everything else was average for a hotel.

I had to cancel my reservation after losing a family member. Of the 6 hotels I booked for the trip, this was the only one that wouldn’t offer a refund or credit for the emergency. The manager was rude, and being treated that way made an already painful situation even worse. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the gym was in great shape. Parking was easy to access too. It’s close to the airport, though you’ll need to drive several miles to reach shops, supermarkets, or a wider choice of places to eat. There was some background highway noise, but it didn’t keep me from sleeping. The room and bathroom were spotless, with no bad smells. The hotel feels new, and the linens and towels seemed brand new as well. The room was practical, with a full kitchen and all its accessories, which is a nice bonus for a longer stay. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I had a very pleasant stay at Candlewood Suites Austin Airport. I’d definitely return.

Our flight was canceled, so we spent the night here before flying out the next day. The room was spacious and convenient, and the AC kept it nice and cold, though its rattling grew worse as the night went on. The lobby and hallways smelled really bad, like a dirty diaper under air freshener. Thankfully the room itself didn’t smell. The shower curtain was too short, so we had to put two extra towels on the floor to stop water from pooling in the bathroom.
