Comfort Inn Austin

I strongly advise people not to stay at this hotel. My car was broken into and my valuables were stolen. Expensive cars are constantly being smashed into, and belongings are regularly taken. Dozens of people have written about what was stolen from them, and more will keep writing. The management is abysmal, and the hotel itself is disgusting. I recommend that nobody go there.

The photos made this hotel look nicer than it was. The bed was hard, and you could hear people pumping bass outside. I knew the price didn't mean top-notch, but I still expected better. The man at the front desk had no personality. It wasn't the worst place I've stayed, but it was very close to the bottom of my list.

Breakfast was good, the parking plentiful, and getting on and off the highway was easy. I also found the stay really relaxing, with excellent service. I left my laptop charger in the room, and since it had just been cleaned, someone brought it down to me as I was heading out. Definitely worth considering.

The room was in bad shape: dirty marks and yellow stains on the bedding, plus a grimy chair and curtains. They'd put the coffee maker, cups, and sugar on the bathroom counter right by the toilet, which was disgusting. Breakfast wasn't very good, with dehydrated eggs, sausage, toast, and waffles. The area also felt rough, with lots of car break-ins reported. At check-in, the man at the desk was mostly kind at first. He said we had to pay, though we thought we'd paid when booking, so we wanted to make sure we wouldn't be charged twice before scanning our card. He got impatient and started tapping the card reader, demanding payment. I'd spend my money somewhere else.
