The staff were friendly and professional, and even thanked me afterward for staying. I’m a Titanium Elite member. The room was $150+, which is the only reason I’m taking off a star. There are two other Marriott hotels right next door that might have been cheaper. I sometimes commute from SA-ATX, and that day I chose to stay in ATX rather than spend three hours fighting 35 traffic. I didn’t look around first, just stopped at the nearest hotel to avoid Austin traffic. It was nice, but next time I’d check the nearby hotels for a better rate. No photos, I forgot to take any.

For a weeklong business visit to Austin, this place was a really poor choice. My room was dark, dingy, stained, and extremely outdated. The washer and dryer stayed out of service the whole time, so I had to spend an evening at a laundromat. The balcony door handle fell off, leaving me unable to get onto the balcony. The parking lot was constantly full of homeless people on drugs. When I raised my concerns, they offered me a free coffee. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

I’ve stayed here once a week for work for a couple of months, using my company’s CLC card without any problem until today, 3/31/26, around 5:30 PM. I won’t be coming back after how I was treated at the desk. There are several hotels next door, and I’d choose one of those. I also wasn’t going to complain about the bar food being subpar, the elevator needing an update, or the thin walls and ceilings that let you hear the people next door as if they’re in your room. What used to bring me back was the welcoming service from the other women at the desk, one Asian and one Black. That’s changed for me now. There were three women at the counter, including a new employee being trained. She asked for my name, phone number, and email, and I reminded her that my job pays for the room through CLC. The trainer cut in with, “wait a minute wait a minute we're getting there.” When the trainee seemed unsure what to do, the trainer said I had to pay the room taxes with my own card. I explained again that my employer covers the hotel through CLC, and that I’d never had to pay before. She said there was no card information on file and insisted I pay for the room, tax, and incidentals. I offered my boss’s credit card number, but she said I had to swipe or insert a card. I told her this had been handled before without trouble. She repeated “no no no” and insisted on the swipe or chip in a sharp tone. She tried to turn the computer screen toward me, but I said I didn’t know what I was supposed to be looking at and that wasn’t my job. I said I’d take my business to a neighboring hotel instead. She replied, “OK like no problem, bye!” I called the CLC hotline, and the representative said she could see the virtual card and my information. She called the hotel to sort it out, then came back after six minutes to say she was still on hold. After another seven minutes she said the desk employee had picked up, told her to hold, and never acknowledged herself or gave the representative a chance to speak. The representative called that very unprofessional. I told her to forget it and cancel my room. She kept apologizing for the employee, and I told her it wasn’t her fault. The hotel wasn’t even busy when I was there, so I couldn’t understand why the representative was left waiting. I’m writing this so people know about my experience. This employee ruined my stays here.

BYOC, bring your own coffee pot. They only have Starbucks. The staff were great, and the room was basic. I didn’t even see a fridge. For me, the missing coffee pot was enough to just take a bath and leave. I didn’t sit on the bed. The area felt sketchy, and I didn’t feel safe leaving my car in the lot. It’s a Marriott, why aren’t there coffee pots in the rooms?

Just an average stay. The room was decent, though you could feel the floor wasn’t level under the rugs, like the construction had been done unevenly. With Bonvoy, even a high status doesn’t seem to get you much. Asking for bottled water felt like a chore, and tea was even more of a stretch. Everything seems to cost extra, which may be down to the property management company more than Marriott. I’d rather stay next door at Springhill.
