Extended Stay America - Austin - North Central

There was no proper lock on the door, so I didn’t feel safe staying the night. The room was in awful shape too: cockroaches were crawling around, and the sofa bed mattress was torn, stained, and smelled terrible. Hygiene was nonexistent. The amenities shown when I booked weren’t available, and staff made no effort to help or apologize. It was overpriced and didn’t meet basic standards for cleanliness or safety. If zero stars were an option, that’s what I’d give. Avoid this hotel.

We cut our trip short because the room was so horrible, and we’d paid $89 for the night. The place looked haunted. There was no internet and it felt unsafe. The bed was dirty and uncleaned, the room hadn’t been cleaned and had a lot of crap under the bed, and the furniture and tables hadn’t even been dusted. The curtains looked like they hadn’t been cleaned in ages, and the bathtub was full of mold. If the hotel is being renovated, they shouldn’t let customers book. Don’t stay here even if it’s free. There’s no zero-star option.

They judged me and assumed I was homeless just because I was dressed comfortably. The room was large, but it smelled weird and had unclean sheets, bed bugs, and a bathtub that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. It was disgusting. I wish I could’ve gotten a refund. The place should be demolished. Avoid it at all costs.

We came to Austin for a few nights to see friends. After seeing our first room, we took photos and showed them to the front desk. They moved us to an upgraded room, but it was just as disgusting: signs of bed bugs, stains and filth everywhere, and nothing had been cleaned. I’ve never felt so gross in a hotel. It’s supposed to be smoke-free, yet the room reeked of stale cigarettes and the smell stayed on our clothes. I don’t normally write reviews and don’t expect much from motels, especially extended-stay ones, but I’d give zero stars if I could. Don’t stay here.
