Inn Cahoots

We had a blast at Cahoots with our group of 10. There were more rooms than we knew what to do with, and the hosts were kind and quick to respond. You can walk right out to everything you need, but we could have spent the whole weekend on the property. There’s a swimming pool, a rooftop DJ floor, a speakeasy downstairs, and a courtyard with live bands. If you’re planning a gathering on the sixth, you don’t need to look anywhere else.

The Inn has no designated parking, so be ready to deal with Austin parking, which is awful. I’d read complaints that EZ parking lots were overpriced and difficult to use, but my experience was the opposite. The enclosed LAZ parking lot one block east of Inn Cahoots gave me clear rates and a better price than parking on the street. It wasn’t a huge savings, but it was worth avoiding the hassle of searching elsewhere and paying as much or more. There’s loads of space for a big group. The shared living and kitchen area is huge and well equipped, and having bedrooms upstairs is ideal when you need a quiet break from the party downstairs. Austin Garden next door had concerts every night over Labor Day weekend, which was cool.

Doug is a real master at making drinks. I asked for something he didn’t have all the ingredients for, so he improvised, and what he made was even better than what I’d originally wanted.

The decor is so cool, and we were right near everything we wanted to do. The rooftop bar and outdoor space were great. We had the best time at inn cahoots, and Jamie was welcoming and so helpful. I’d highly recommend staying there on a trip to Austin. Please tell Jamie we said hi, he’s the best!
