Kasa Lady Bird Lake Austin

The location and price worked out perfectly, with groceries, souvenir shops, bars, restaurants, and plenty more all within walking distance. The apartment was spacious and clean, with great views of downtown Austin. It was in one of the nicest apartment buildings in the city. Just be aware that downtown Austin stays noisy at night, so it may take some getting used to.

The accommodations looked beautiful, and I was excited to stay, but the customer service left me very disappointed. I had booked for a business trip through capital one travel, then had to cancel because of circumstances outside our control. Even after giving advance notice and explaining what happened, they refused to refund almost $1000. It feels wrong to take that much from someone who isn't even staying there. I wouldn't count on good service. When I'm back in Austin for work, I'll stay elsewhere and encourage people at my company not to book here either.

Beware of the cancellation terms. They require FIVE days' notice, which is outside the usual 1-2 days. I asked whether I could move the same dates to later that week and was firmly told no, regardless of the reason. This was during a high vacancy season, so I wouldn't have been taking up limited space. I'll read the fine print carefully and stick with hotels that have industry standard policies and procedures.

My room at Kasa Lady Bird Lake was upgraded a few days before I arrived, with no extra charge. It was spacious and clean, and the front desk staff were kind and helpful. I had a great stay!
