I called him while I was standing with the front desk employee, put him on speaker, and he confirmed it was fine for me to buy whatever I wanted from the store. She still had an attitude afterward. The card was on file for my room, so she could have just charged it. She crossed a line and acted unprofessionally. This started on May 4th 2026, when I ordered from the Hotel store and asked them to charge it to the room. The front desk lady treated me like a criminal and insisted on seeing my ID. I showed it, but she still made me feel awful for buying things. The next morning, May 5, 2026, I ordered from the store again. She questioned whether the guy whose card was being charged was okay with my purchase. She had apparently told him about the charges the day before, and he said he didn’t know, so she thought that gave her permission to question me. It was none of her business. Maybe she doesn’t have anyone who’d put her up in a hotel and let her buy what she wants, but that’s not my concern. La Quinta needs staff who respect people’s privacy and personal lives. They are NOT discrete.

Free parking was good, but the pool was cold, and nobody used it at the end of October. The breakfast area is pleasant, though the chair surfaces are peeling, and carpeting there doesn’t make much sense with food and drink spills. Room quality seems hit or miss. We spent the first three nights in a room that smelled really bad, as if a dog had urinated in the corner. It took pushing past some resistance from reception before we could switch to a cleaner room. The reception staff can be hit or miss too, and one person was rather rude. I’d give it 2 stars, just short of 3.

I woke up to a large bedbug crawling on me and killed it right away. It was full of my blood. I started gathering my things immediately so I could disinfect them and wash everything at a high temperature. I couldn’t relax afterward, and I’ve had weeks of worry ahead of me because these bugs spread so easily. Be careful, everyone. I asked for a full refund, but they only wanted to pay for the remaining days. I’m still trying to get back the full amount I spent.

There were roaches in my room, and the AC kept tripping instead of running continuously, so the room was hot. The rooms are good, no doubt, but the roaches were a problem. Hotel staff weren’t friendly, and there was a weed smell all over the property. It’s not good for families. Better to pay more for a good brand property.
