Railyard Condos by TurnKey Vacation Rentals

The Railyard was my worst rental experience in Austin. I left early after speeding up my home purchase, but was still charged termination fees and concessions. The advertised luxury standard felt misleading, and this was readily the most expensive mistake I’ve made in my life. The unit wasn’t ready to live in. The refrigerator didn’t work for a month, drains leaked, and the thermostat was unusable. Inefficiencies also drove up the electricity costs. Promised renovated units had mismatched appliances, broken fixtures, missing hardware, and mold in the HVAC system. The grounds were neglected, common areas weren’t cared for, and pests were a frequent problem. Only one fountain worked. The rest were kept dry to prevent damage to internal units. There was very little staffing, with a part-time manager who responded slowly. The one maintenance worker was awesome despite the hand he’d been dealt, but was forced to close tickets early to meet SLAs. Issues kept going unresolved and needed repeated follow-ups. The community was called luxury, but wasn’t well maintained or properly staffed. Avoid this property unless you’re prepared to be driven out and eat the cost.

I love being downtown and close to everything. Railyard has that Old Austin charm, and the location is amazing!

Railyard has a cool, old-school feel, and my experience living here has been great so far. The maintenance team is outstanding: quick to respond, professional, and genuinely cool people who go above and beyond to handle problems. They’ve been renovating the apartments and updating the grounds for a while, so things aren’t always perfect. The team works hard to address issues as they come up. The manager is kind, understanding, and clearly cares about residents. They listen and want people to feel at home. If you want a good place to live with an amazing staff, Railyard is the place to be!
