Super 8 by Wyndham Austin University/Downtown Area

We left early during a trip with friends and won't book here again. Calling it a dump feels mild. It was rancid, and nothing about the place felt Super or Clean. The outside looks much better than inside. Paint was peeling, outlets were nowhere useful, the showerhead kept leaking dirty water, and the room was loud with no quiet at all. The old, raggedy toilet had tape over dark stains. The TV channels glitched constantly, and the bed felt like a rock. We were dealing with all this in a room that smelled like glue. Downstairs staff weren't helpful, and the lobby had a stale smell. They don't seem to check the rooms, but they'll charge extra for things like coffee. We didn't even have towels. Don't expect cleanliness or basic necessities.

The cleaner lady was very loving, and the parking spots seem made only for short cars, though people manage. The breakfast is limited: waffles to make, corn flakes, white bread, coffee, and juice. Since many people live there, breakfast felt like visiting a psychiatric ward. At first the room looked beautiful. Then I shut the bathroom door and saw the rest of it. It was shabby, but not enough to matter.

I stayed two nights for work and it was a good experience, mostly because the place was so quiet. That's hard to find, and for the reasonable price I'd stay again. Breakfast starts at 6am, and there are plenty of parking spaces, though they're a bit tight. At check-in the young woman was friendly and professional. Her telling me to "be blessed" was a really nice gesture. The room smelled a little like bug spray, and the shower could've been cleaner.

The room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was yummy and included, and there's a laundrymat on site. They also welcomed our pets, the price was very reasonable, and you can't beat the location. Mr. Arshard, the manager, and his assistants Makayla and Diana were kind and professional. We'll DEFINITELY book here again!
