TownePlace Suites Austin Round Rock

At least eight vehicles in the TownePlace lot were broken into overnight on Feb 7-8, including our truck, whose window was smashed and belongings stolen. I told the front desk associate, and all she said was “okay.” A Round Rock police officer told me similar incidents had happened several times since last year, yet there are no cameras or security. I know the hotel can't control criminals, but it can take steps to deter them and respond properly to affected guests instead of shrugging it off. If you’re bringing a vehicle, I strongly suggest researching other places nearby. There are good options in Hutto and pflugerville for the north Austin area.

The pump finally stopped around 1 a.m., after keeping me awake from 11:30 p.m. The power-washing truck was parked right below my window at room 230, and its engine and pump made a constant loud noise. I called reception and was told they couldn't do anything and didn't know how long it would continue. I said sleep is the whole point of a hotel stay, and they should have warned me at check-in so I could go somewhere else. I had a customer meeting at 8:30 the next morning and couldn't speak with the manager, but the receptionist said the night clerk had noted my call. The manager never contacted me. In 30 years of business travel, this was my worst experience at a Marriott. There are plenty of other places in Round Rock, and I won't stay here again.

The breakfasts had plenty of variety, with food and spices for picky eaters too. The waffle station even had cute Texas-shaped waffles. We also found good shopping and food nearby, and the lobby shop was well stocked. The staff were fantastic: Alberto was a big help at breakfast, and manager Gemma was a sweetie. Everything was clean, both in the rooms and around the hotel, and we never lacked for anything. The room felt like home, with a full refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, toaster, and coffee machine, as well as the pool, gym, and ice machine. We were sad to leave. I can't say enough good things about this place.

My car was broken into during our Feb 7-8 stay, along with at least 5-10 other vehicles parked around the lot. I was very disappointed with how the hotel staff handled the incident. I agree with what Mr. Green said in his review. If you care about your vehicle, I'd avoid this property.
