Sleep Inn & Suites

We were told when booking, and again on arrival, that the pool was working. The water itself wasn't terrible, but the pool room was just 65F, so getting out of the water felt cold. When I first raised it, the front desk person said he didn't have a key. He eventually went in and turned the heat up to 75F, then said the heat was broken and maintenance wasn't available on Sunday. He also said he had known the room was cold when I mentioned it. This should have been dealt with once they knew there was a problem. We were misled about the pool.

Breakfast was supposed to run from 6 to 9, but when my husband went down at 8, he was told he was too late. The indoor pool room was 50 degrees, and they wouldn't turn on the heat. We realized within an hour of checking in that we'd made a mistake and asked to check out with a refund, but were told no. The staff were rude, and the whole stay was a bad time. There are three other hotels next to this one and across the street, so I'd go to one of those. I wouldn't recommend this place.

For a one-night stay that lasted six hours, this turned into a nightmare. The toilet ran all night, and we were directed through the fire exit to get inside. That door barely opens because concrete blocks it, leaving just enough room to squeeze through. Thank goodness there wasn't a fire. My card was charged three times and they won't refund it. I saw no staff anywhere in the building in the morning, and there was no breakfast. I've never stayed somewhere worse. They should be closed over that blocked exit alone. Scam!!!

The pool area is spacious and nice, and the rooms are comfortable, with cozy beds and pillows. They provide shampoo and conditioner, and the TVs have Roku. It's a clean, quiet place with polite, friendly staff. Breakfast was disappointing if you're hoping for a hot meal. You can make a waffle, or microwave an egg omelette or Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwich. Food and gas are close by, and the lake is less than twenty minutes away.
