The first guy who checked us in was so friendly, but things went downhill once we got to the room. My fiancé tried the shower and got weak, lukewarm water that kept cutting out and turning freezing. There was black mold in the grout, too, which looked like it could be cleaned with bleach and bathroom cleaner. Then my husband sat on the bed while we ate dinner and actually fell off because his side was broken and sagged down. I’m glad we hadn’t put our 7-month-old on it, or she could have fallen too. I told the front desk, where two different men were working. The one I spoke to just stared at me, then peppered me with questions about whether we’d used towels or slept in the bed. We hadn’t slept in it, just sat down to eat. It made me wonder if he planned to put someone else in that room. He eventually moved us next door, but that bed looked like someone had already been lying in it. When we pulled down the blanket to eat, we found stains on the blanket, pillowcases, and sheets. The curtains were stained and broken, and neither room’s phone worked. We got up around 8 a.m. for the advertised breakfast, one of the reasons we picked this hotel, but nothing was set out. The desk clerk apologized and said there was no breakfast that day. Why didn’t anyone mention that when we checked in? Just a disgusting, crappy hotel.
