Hampton Inn by Hilton Youngstown-West I-80

We rolled in at 5am after driving all night, and the staff were so welcoming. Breakfast was good too. The building feels a little dated for what it costs, but it didn't seem dirty. I'd stay again if I was in the area.

The biggest problem was getting a decent night's sleep. We tried two different rooms, and both beds sank toward the side as soon as we sat or lay down, leaving us feeling like we might roll off. The mattresses seem decades old. On top of that, a guest was screaming in the middle of the night, and after police came to deal with it, they talked loudly in the hallway for a long time. We were awake for over two hours, and between that and the awful beds, we lost a whole day of travel trying to get some rest. There were other problems too. In the first room, cold water barely trickled, and the door closer fittings seemed barely screwed in, which felt unsafe. The furniture is dated, with veneer peeling right off the counters and desks. The pool was under construction without warning. We could have lived with that if the beds had let us sleep. The rooms were clean, the staff kind and friendly, and breakfast adequate. But the owner needs to bring the place up to Hampton standards. Charging Hampton prices for rooms like these is shameful. This hotel badly needs an upgrade.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms felt fresh with updated decor. Everything was immaculately clean. I liked having full size shampoo, body wash, and conditioner, and the room let us sign into our programs. Apple TV was available free for shows too. The lobby was clean and inviting, with complimentary fresh coffee, cookies, and even juice for the kids. We'll definitely stay here again.

The bathroom had mold, and the place is very old. The front desk and the breakfast setup were both in guest rooms. It was under construction without any notice, so the website should say so when people book. This was nowhere near the best Hampton I've stayed at. We absolutely will not stay here next time we're in the Youngstown area. Travelers, beware.
