Casa Mariquita Hotel

The location is fairly convenient, and the woman at the front desk was very nice. Beyond that, the hotel was a real disappointment for our two-night stay over an October holiday weekend. The bed and pillows were uncomfortable, the mattress was stained and dirty, and the shower head had brown mold. The bathroom smelled as if chemicals had been used to cover cigarette smoke. For almost $400 a night, I expected a lot more.

The photos don’t do the place justice. We had the larger room with great views and a phenomenal massage chair. The host was flexible and quick to respond, and we were able to leave our bags in storage both before check-in and after check-out. We never needed to rent a golf cart, since the store and all the restaurants are around the corner. Highly recommend it, and I’d definitely come back.

The location is great, but we had no room WiFi, phone signal, or cable during our three nights and four days. There was no housekeeping service because apparently you need to stay more than three nights. The housekeepers were kind, but we had to take out our own trash and get our own towels. We didn’t stay for free, so that’s unacceptable.

We were only there one night, but were pleased with the stay. The room was fairly small, though it had everything we needed: hairdryer, iron and ironing board, extra towels, and an extra blanket. It seemed clean. If the gal at the front desk wasn’t in the office, she was reachable by phone, and we could store our luggage before and after checkout.
