There was no bathroom ventilation, and the windows faced the passage, so we had to keep the curtains shut to stop people walking by from looking into the room. The room itself was clean and everything else was okay. Checkout at 10 a.m. felt very early, though they kindly let us stay until 11. We also couldn’t leave our bags after checkout, unlike at other hotels. They suggested the town’s only luggage storage, which was pretty inconvenient.

There’s a grill station outside, which seems handy for people coming back from fishing, and the room had everything we needed, including a fridge, microwave, stove, kitchen and dinnerware, iron and ironing board, TV, and hair dryer. It was clean, and the staff were great. The hike from town may be tough if you have bad knees and haven’t rented a golf cart, though it’s still fairly close. The distance also keeps things quieter. I’d book again.

We wore sandals throughout the home because the place felt so dirty, and even our 9- and 6-year-old children felt gross about showering there. The upstairs shower handle was broken and came right out of the wall, and the upstairs door wouldn’t lock. We had to wedge a chair under the handle to feel somewhat safe from someone walking in. There were spider webs, stains on the walls that looked like blood, and mold in some wet areas. The two-bedroom, three-bed town home smelled strongly of mildew as soon as we entered. We booked for a family of four, expecting something pleasant based on the photos, but it was the opposite. We’ll definitely never stay here again.

The room was clean, but the customer service was offensively bad. During my stay I couldn’t find anyone at the front desk, no one answered when I knocked, and nobody acknowledged any of my calls to the number in the window. I called at least three times, including a few days before the trip. The AC, ceiling fan, and bathroom exhaust fan didn’t work, and there was no one around to give me a remote or fix them. Honestly, I can’t call it service at all.
