Home2 Suites by Hilton Phoenix Avondale

After spending the morning outside for job training in Phoenix, I was frustrated with the Hilton property where I’d originally booked. They were slow to cancel my reservation, and sorting it out felt like jumping through hoops. I found a nearby Home2 Suites and came here instead. The front desk greeted me with a warm smile. While I was explaining what had happened, Mrs. Victoria Castro overheard and brought the issue to Tyrone, the manager. From then on, everyone went above and beyond to take care of me. They turned a stressful situation into a wonderful experience with first-class service. Thank you all, especially on my Birthday.

The rooms were clean, and the hotel was generally well kept. It’s in a good spot, with several restaurants nearby and a main event next door. There’s a sewage-like odor in the lobby and gym, where the washer and dryer are also located. It’s a bit pricey, but I’d recommend staying here if you’re in the area.

The breakfast was excellent, and the rooms had a surprisingly complete kitchen. Home 2 Suites was a very pleasant stay, even with all that signature lime green.

The room mix-up was a real shame, but the employee tried hard to help. We checked in online at 4pm, arrived after 11pm on a busy weekend, and found that the two-bed room we’d booked was no longer available. One person in our group slept on the floor for two nights. The staff member sent up extra pads, blankets, and sheets to make it more comfortable, apologized, and even tried to find us two rooms, but everything was booked. We eventually got the room we wanted after those two nights. The rooms were clean, and everyone was helpful and kind. The hotel is close to Camelback Ranch, the baseball Spring Training site, and there are lots of food options within walking distance. Parking was full during the busy weekend, but we found spots near an entrance. Once things quieted down, we could park up front. Breakfast was a mixed bag. Most choices seemed microwaved and the drinks were watered down. There was little seating, but we could always take food back to our room. Bowls and cups ran out, though staff restocked them when told. The do-it-yourself waffles were the best part, but with only one waffle maker there was always a line. Plates and utensils were clean, and the trash didn’t overflow, unlike at many buffets. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate were always available, and there were treats for dogs. Despite the room issue, we had a good experience overall and would stay again.
