The place was dirty, the beds were really uncomfortable, and several things in the rooms were broken: a bathroom door, faucet handles, toilets that kept running, and curtain rods. We had asked for three rooms downstairs and together, but got rooms upstairs and scattered apart. The staff were rude, and the person at the counter seemed about 14 and knew nothing. We also had trouble with the keys. Worst hotel stay I've ever had. Don't stay here.

The room layout made the night away feel like a success. We booked a suite at Econo Lodge Azle, and they let us check in hours early, which was much appreciated. The staff were friendly and helpful, parking was easy, and the room had the standard features I expected. My fiancée and I were looking for a comfortable weekend break, and this place ended up being just the right fit. We'll choose it again.

I only stayed long enough to shower. There was used soap in the tub and a used Kleenex in the drawer between the beds, and the refrigerator door fell off. I didn't have a single, so I had to pay almost $75 for a double. My water heater at home had broken and I'd been working outside all day, so this was especially disappointing. I won't recommend this place or return.

After driving about 1,000 miles, I just needed a shower and a few hours of sleep before getting back on the road. The clerk was rude and unprofessional, and the questions got so personal that I gave up on renting a room. I ended up driving another 150 miles and sleeping in my truck at a rest stop instead. I was asked how old I was and whether I was sure I didn't have a girlfriend I planned to sneak in. I'm straight, exhausted, and tired of being asked if I'm a lesbian. Since when is that okay to ask a hotel customer? The hotel also looks nothing like its Google photos. I stopped in around 3 a.m. on a Saturday, and after the clerk finally got out of bed, I was quoted $99 a night. That's high, especially since I grew up here and know the much nicer La Quinta is 20 miles down the road. It was booked because of the Cowboys game, though. I'll never stay here.

The room was in rough shape: poorly patched wall holes, a badly torn armchair, a toilet that ran constantly and only flushed sometimes, blood-stained sheets, and burn marks everywhere. I'd asked for a smoking room, but still wasn't expecting holes and burn marks on everything. Later, around 10 p.m., my boyfriend went to ask for an extra pillow. He saw a woman smoking something from a pipe in a room near the office, and the smell made it clear it wasn't tobacco or weed. The woman who came to the desk was the same one. She said she couldn't get a pillow because the closet was locked and she didn't have the key. We arrived Saturday afternoon, March 26, 2016, just after the 3 p.m. check-in time. A child came out from the back office when I rang for service. An adult only took over after the child couldn't answer a billing question, and then acted like helping was a huge inconvenience. Getting the key took about 15 minutes. When I rang to check out around 9 Sunday morning, nobody came downstairs, so I passed the key through the security glass and left. It's sad this is the only hotel in Azle. We won't stay again. If zero stars were an option, I'd give it that.
