The location is hard to beat, right on Main Street near the highway, with easy access and ample parking. Restaurants, coffee, and vending options are close by, but the property still feels private and secure. Its horseshoe shape helps keep things quiet and safe from any room. I’ve tried just about every place to stay in Baker City, Oregon, in busy and slow seasons, and this hotel is the one I’d choose. The rooms are spotless, the staff are kind and attentive, and the whole place feels welcoming. I appreciate the clear rules, including a smoking area set well away from the rooms. There are plenty of first-floor rooms for elderly guests and adjoining rooms for families, thoughtful touches that make the place practical and comfortable. The cleaning staff are diligent and personable, and often bring their kids along, which adds to the family atmosphere. The owner is what really makes this place stand out. I’ve seen him working late at his desk, then on the roof at sunrise fixing or improving something himself, before putting in another full day managing the business. He seems dedicated, resourceful, and proud of his work, running the place with both intelligence and heart. The value stays honest whether you book online or pay at the desk, and that kind of transparency is rare these days. If there’s availability, take it. It’s one of the few places I’d give six stars if I could, and a reminder of what good hospitality looks like.

The rooms at the Roadway Inn were very nice, super clean, quiet, and a great place to rest and enjoy 6-7 days of amazing Pookie and KiTTy Time. It was very much needed, time to relax. The price was the best we’d found so far across 5 different states. Everyone was super friendly, from the person answering my husband’s phone call and our questions about room availability, prices, and veteran discounts. “Sure enough,” the man who answered was very helpful and friendly, and made sure we could check in late at night. He was just wonderful.

The location is great, close to the freeway, but the room had ants everywhere and the AC unit was loud. The toilet leaked, too. We were right next to the stairs, and they made a lot of noise whenever people went up and down.

The customer service was great, and the room was very clean. The shower was fantastic, too. When we arrived, a super friendly residential cat came over to welcome us. The owners are in the process of refreshing the motel, and once they finish, it will be beautiful. We’d definitely stay there again.

The freeway was easy to get to, and there were good places to eat nearby. We were glad to find a room while passing through, and for the price it was pretty nice. Parking right by our room was handy, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good pressure. The kitty at the front desk was a lovely welcome. The bathroom floor was filthy, though, and a huge ice block in the fridge freezer meant we could fit only one ice pack. We could also hear people on the stairs and walking around upstairs.
