Holiday Inn Express and Suites Newton by IHG

Michelle was the bright spot during my seven weeks here. She tried hard to help and represented the hotel well. When she wasn’t involved, though, concerns usually took too long to address. My rooms varied in quality. Sinks sometimes wouldn’t drain, housekeeping requests were missed or ignored, and the walls did little to block noise. On my most recent stay, people next door played loud music and yelled for hours, waking me up and keeping me awake. The amenities were disappointing. I asked twice for a decent ironing board and, if possible, a fridge with a freezer, but neither was consistently available. The fitness center was really poor. The older woman at the daytime desk never smiled and wasn’t friendly to me as a returning guest. Today a landscaper covered my vehicle with grass clippings and dust while edging and weed whacking. The response was that maybe the landscaper could wipe it off. That was inadequate. I wouldn’t recommend this place except for convenience.

We came for a special trip celebrating Carmen and Marissa, and the stay was easy from the start. They let us check in early, which meant we didn’t have to show up to a wedding looking like we’d just climbed out of the car. Parking was easy too, which already beats some places. The room was clean and comfortable, with no weird hotel smell. The shower had hot water and strong pressure, a nice reward after a long day. Nothing fancy, just exactly what we needed for a stress-free stay. I’d come back for another celebration.

The Holiday Inn express in Newton NJ worked out really well for our wedding. We booked a room block in 2024 for our 2026 wedding, something only a few of the hotels I contacted would allow, and they kept us updated on how many rooms were left. They also handed out welcome bags to our guests and set up the after-party supplies, keeping the drinks cold. We used their party room for the after party and for a private breakfast the next morning. Breakfast was great and fully stocked. The hotel looked nearly new and was clean, as were the rooms. The beds were comfortable. We had no complaints and highly recommend it.

Jessica kept everything on track for my daughter's wedding at Bear Brook Valley. She arranged our room block, put welcome bags in the guest rooms, organized a private breakfast room, and coordinated the shuttle to and from the venue. She was always available and on top of things. Her staff were courteous, friendly, and accommodating. Everything went perfectly for me and my guests, so I’d highly recommend Holiday Inn express in Newton for any of your needs.
