Days Inn Newton

The room was in awful shape. The door security was held together with blue tape, some electrical outlet covers were missing or broken, and there was what looked like snot wiped on the headboard.

The floors were disgusting, and the buildup on the lamp base was so thick I could have written my review in it. The lamps didn’t even have shades. There was mold on the mattresses and ceiling, the AC sounded like a saw about to explode, and the metal bed base made a loud pop every time we rolled over. What looks like a good deal is a lie. I can only think this place is still open out of desperation.

My severe allergies kept me from sleeping at the last three hotels I stayed in over the past two years, and they were expensive. This one was inexpensive, with a very nice room that smelled clean and super fresh. I slept like a baby without a single allergy issue, and I’m so happy with the whole stay. The service was outstanding, quick, and easy. I’m very particular, and I’m not kidding when I say this place was truly exceptional. No smoking in the rooms. Pet rooms are available on one side, and there’s a nice outdoor sitting area for smokers. If you’re passing through Newton, give this hotel a try. Five stars plus! I expected more and was very disappointed with the room, especially after paying for a higher-quality one. The bed was super thin, and we slept horribly during our two-night stay, even though it was new. The towels were poor quality and small, and the bed only had a sheet and bedspread, so we had to request blankets. The electricity was a serious problem and a huge fire risk. Many high-demand items were plugged into a cheap $10 extension block, which I don’t believe is rated for a mini fridge, microwave, and other needs. The outlets in the bedside lamps were so loose that our devices wouldn’t stay charging, so I had to use the bathroom plugs for my phone and other things. Cords and water are a bad combination. I can’t imagine what a normal-value room is like. I’ll never stay at one of these again.
