Extended Stay America Suites Bakersfield Chester Lane

I usually choose Chester lane instead of California, and this is a decent, clean place if you want an affordable hotel. The customer service is consistently good. Cisco was especially friendly and nice tonight. I'd recommend it.

I didn't mind missing a 2:45pm check-in, but I did mind the way the woman at the desk expressed how tired she was. I had requested several weeks ahead that my two rooms be on the same floor, but they couldn't do that. Room 382 had a fridge that was as loud as Nascar. It was warm inside and smelled moldy. The restroom floor was badly cracked and felt like it might sink, maybe from a plumbing issue. I told the front desk, and she just said, "Oh, I know." There was no offer to move rooms or give a discount for the inconvenience.

We were in town as vendors for the Kern County Fair. The location worked well, just off the freeway with restaurants nearby, and the bed was good. The staff were friendly and very helpful. I liked having a kitchen with cooking items like pots, a pan, and dishes. The elevator needs attention, though I'm sure it'll be fixed soon.

There were lots of insects in the room, and I got bitten all over my arms and body. The manager had a terrible attitude. I sprayed insect repellent on my luggage to clean it, and she rudely complained right away that it smelled strong.
