The noise from upstairs made it hard to sleep. We could hear every footstep through the floor, and the family above us kept us up until 2:00 AM. It got so loud I wondered if the ceiling might come down. The walls also seemed thin, though the floor noise was the main problem. We had a two-Queen room. The mattresses were comfortable, but every pillow was bulky, with no flatter option. The toilet kept running after each flush, too. On the plus side, the TV was new and easy to use with streaming services. Breakfast was sparse, with no oranges, bananas, or orange juice. The hotel itself is new and modern, and check-in was easy. There were plenty of parking spaces behind a fence, the Wi-Fi worked well, and the fitness center was well equipped. I picked this Hampton Inn because I wanted a new building with modern facilities, but unless you can get a room on the top, 4th floor, I wouldn't choose it if sleep matters to you.

The room was spacious and comfortable, and parking was easy. It's a new hotel, and breakfast was better than at other places we've stayed, with a large area to sit in. The reception staff were rude, though. Light sleepers should know the air conditioner is a loud unit in the room. The thermostat also ticks whenever it switches on or off, and it sounded like someone was trying to get into the room.

The secure parking setup helped with the one concern I had, a somewhat sketchy motel across the street. Cars are kept behind a locked gate that opens with a hotel key card. The Hilton itself is great, with top-notch amenities and a breakfast menu that rotates. There’s also a Starbucks right next door and a breakfast Cafe in the same parking lot.

We pulled in for the night on our road trip because the hotel was right on our route. It looked new, felt welcoming, and was clean and in good condition throughout. The gated lot gave us extra peace of mind, and check-in went smoothly thanks to the efficient staff. Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and having a microwave there came in handy. Coffee in the lobby was a lifesaver. The next morning's breakfast was filling, with a great range of hot food. It had all the modern amenities we expected, and we'd consider staying again.

The 4th-floor room was quiet, with a modern layout and everything looking clean and new. Breakfast was free and available until 10am. If I end up needing to stay in Bakersfield again, this inn is where I'll go for a comfortable, quiet room and that fresh, clean smell.
