The breakfast was generous, especially the scrambled eggs and sausage, and there are plenty of good places to eat nearby, including Korean, Japanese, Thai, and Mediterranean restaurants, plus a Trader Joe's across the street. This Hyatt in Bakersfield is a great overnight stop when driving between California and Nevada. I liked having a gym, an outdoor pool, dog-friendly rooms, and lots of parking. Everyone I met, from the front desk to housekeeping, was kind and friendly.

Traveling solo, I felt very safe here, especially compared with other hotels on my road trip. The staff, security, and general atmosphere gave me real peace of mind. The property was beautifully maintained, with a modern, comfortable room and an immaculate bathroom. I could see a lovely sunset from the room, which made the stay memorable. I enjoyed the pool, though there were some mosquitoes. Cleanliness, comfort, design, and safety all exceeded my expectations. I’d happily return and recommend this Hyatt to business or leisure travelers.

The room was spacious and clean, and the older facilities were fine with me. I did find the street-facing room noisy at night. The front desk also didn’t offer water until I asked.

I love this place, and the front desk woman was awesome. She knew her job, made me laugh, and helped me relax. But guests in the room with two dogs ruined my night. The German shepherd and chihuahua barked constantly. The chihuahua had a service animal vest, but I’ve never seen a service dog bark like that; most are calm. I was outside watching when the owner left the dogs’ waste behind without picking it up. This should have been a five-star stay.

There’s a spacious dining area for the free breakfast, and checkout isn’t until noon. The room was a good size and clean, and the staff were friendly and experienced. The location is convenient, with quite a few restaurants nearby.
