Courtyard by Marriott Baldwin Park

I slept well here during a business conference. The rooms, beds, and bathroom were clean, and the front desk agent was especially sweet. Everyone was nice, the price was reasonable, and it’s a nice property. I’d recommend it.

The road outside is a little loud, but I sleep with earplugs, and the location is convenient. What made this stay stand out was the staff’s kindness around my birthday, which is in a few days. They wished me a happy birthday right away, then I found a lovely card and treats from the staff in my room. Those little gestures mean a lot when you’re away from home and family for work. This place ranks up there with the Marriott Harbor location in Buffalo New York for me, and knowing they care about making guests feel special makes me want to return. I can’t wait to come back.

The ADA room was clean and spacious, and the staff were excellent and very accommodating. The layout still felt awkward: the bed faced a wall, while the TV and closet were off to the left. I also think an ADA tub should have a slip proof mat or decal. The room just didn’t feel arranged very well.

Getting into the parking lot each day became a hassle. They replaced my room key three times, but it still wouldn’t let me in or out, so I had to press the call button and wait for someone, which made getting to work on time difficult. They also wouldn’t add my stay to my Marriott Bonvoy account because it was booked through a group, even though the other Marriott where I stayed the night before with the same group had linked it. There’s no water refill station, no lotion in the room, and the carpet didn’t feel sanitary to walk on. The check-in problem was the worst part. I’d forgotten my wallet, my mistake, and they wouldn’t accept Apple Pay or let me read out my card number. I even asked for an online payment link, but they refused and wouldn’t let me check in without a physical credit card. I had to drive an hour home and an hour back just to get it. It’s 2025, so why can’t they take Apple Pay? This hotel is full of excuses, and I’m tired of it.
