Living here has taken an unreasonable amount of time and effort just to maintain basic living conditions. I’m extremely disappointed with management and with the overall experience. If you’re looking for a stable, professionally managed place, I can’t recommend this apartment. We first found roaches in our unit in late December. From then through the end of January, we contacted the front desk twice to ask for pest control. Both times, pest control called ahead, got our approval, and entered properly. Neither treatment worked, and the roaches remained. When I contacted the office a third time to say the problem was ongoing, they said they needed to discuss it internally. Later that same week, on Friday, pest control came in without notice or our consent and treated the apartment. That unauthorized entry raised serious privacy concerns and damaged our trust in management. Instead of addressing the lack of notice, management emailed us saying the roaches were due to our hygiene. They told us to correct the situation and warned that failure to do so could be a lease breach. That accusation was inaccurate and inappropriate, especially since we later learned other units in the building had similar pest problems. When we questioned the entry, management called it an emergency, which seemed like a justification after the fact rather than a legitimate explanation. We then spent about two hours discussing the situation at the office in person. Despite our attempts to explain our concerns, we were repeatedly told that continuing pest treatments was the only option. No concrete steps to make the apartment habitable were offered, and alternatives weren’t meaningfully discussed. The manager also said our apartment insurance would cover a hotel during pest treatments. We checked the policy ourselves and found that wasn’t true, which further undermined our confidence in management’s information. As the problem persisted without an effective fix, I asked about either a mutual lease termination or a transfer to another unit. Management said they couldn’t decide on a mutual agreement and refused to offer a unit change, leaving us with no practical options. This fits a broader pattern in our dealings with the office. Our apartment was a sublease, and after taking it over we repeatedly emailed to have our names added to the lease. It took one to two months of follow-ups before that was finally done. Based on that experience, I doubt the pest issue would have been addressed at all if it hadn’t escalated so seriously. There are other maintenance problems too. The flooring has visible cracks, and the windows make loud noises in strong winds, often waking me at night. Maintenance inspected a window and said it had been fixed, but the noise continues.

Even after a major snowstorm this weekend, the sidewalks around our block were among the only ones nearby cleared and shoveled properly. The team really stays on top of things. I’ve lived here for a few years without any problems, and the building is consistently clean and well maintained. The staff are always friendly, and the apartment prices seem fair to me given the size and amenities like the pool, gym, and terrace grills.

The staff are friendly, and for an older building it’s in good shape. But Keystone jazz bar is inside the building, with very loud music every night until 11 pm or later. We’re on the fifth floor facing the other side, and still hear it through the walls, so I don’t think the floor or which side you’re on makes a difference. It’s made falling asleep difficult, especially when we have to get up early for work. We didn’t know about the music before moving in, and it’s a deal breaker for us. I wish the leasing agent had told us.

The building feels modern, safe, and spotless, and the other residents seem friendly. I decided to move in last week, and the staff have been great to deal with, both warm and quick to communicate. David Homere was especially helpful and responsive while I chose an apartment and signed the lease. I’m looking forward to living here.

I spent 30 days here and came away happy with the stay. The location is handy for food spots, Whole Foods, CVS, Fells Point, and Wells Fargo Bank downstairs. Inside, I liked the friendly residents and reception staff, the views, the mail system, the gym and clubhouse, and events like Breakfast Mondays and wine Wednesday. The communication centre has four working PCs and a printer free for members. A couple of things could be better: the HVAC doesn’t heat or cool efficiently, and I’d like the beverage machine to be available around the clock. There are also some surrounding issues to keep in mind. Traffic and loud ambulance or fire department sirens can wake you at night. A restaurant next door runs a diesel generator that sends smoke from its terrace toward the building when the wind blows that way, so opening the window or sitting on the patio to enjoy the view may not work. H&S bakery is a block away, and you’ll smell bread baking, so consider that if you don’t like the smell.
