Everything went smoothly, and I had a good stay. The staff were helpful and friendly, the hotel was nicely decorated, and breakfast was good. If you're up for seafood, go to Mo's Seafood. They'll pick you up at the hotel and bring you back afterward. I slept fine, though someone sensitive to street noise might want to avoid staying in the city.

The room was comfortable, with a nice bed and a decent view, and service was helpful all around. The building is a very clean, expensive-looking old bank, and you can see that history in the decor. I enjoyed staying at this Holiday Inn and would use it again if I'm in the area. A few things could be better: the neighborhood feels a little run down, and the provided parking is limited and first come, first served. I also had to get my room card reset a few times. The picture is only of the outside, since I didn't have room on my phone to take anything else.

I booked this for NYE because I was going to an event in the city, and it exceeded what I expected. I live 20 minutes away and know the city somewhat. The staff were lovely. The gentleman offered snacks and complimentary champagne for NYE. The lobby looked nice but dated, so I wasn't sure what to expect from the room. It turned out to be fully renovated, with comfortable beds, a very clean bathroom, and a city view. I felt safe with others there, even though some reviews said the location wasn't the best. The area was well lit, but you'd have to walk to find a convenience store or food. The parking lot is small and costs $15, which I hadn't known, though my car was safe. I'd stay again. No complaints, and my rate was the best I could find in the city, especially for NYE.

The cold showers are why I can only give this place one star. After my shower turned cold within seconds, I told the front desk, and my partner had run into the same problem. They acted like it was new information and thanked me for mentioning it. The next day the same thing happened, so Hon didn't risk taking a shower. At checkout I raised it again. They said someone had checked it, but nothing had changed. The second response felt rehearsed, as if the desk person was tired of hearing about it already. There were good things: an interesting renovation of an architecturally significant bank building, a pleasant room with a bit of a view, and a decent included breakfast with variety and plenty of food. The staff were pleasant, and the location was good. But if you want a lukewarm shower or warmer, call ahead and get a money-back guarantee that the water heaters are working. If you don't care about showers or like cold ones, this may be a five-star stay for you.
