Hotel Ulysses

The room was lovely, cozy, and sweet, with a canopy bed and artistic furniture. The place has a great artsy, hipster feel, all mirrored-glass 70s retro mixed with Renaissance tapestries. The Cocktail Lounge, Blooms, is very cool. Breakfast at Ash Bar and Cafe was another story. We went at 9:30 a.m. and ordered just scrambled eggs as a side and a yogurt parfait. It took half an hour, even though we were the only guests in the restaurant for the first 15 minutes. There were plenty of staff standing around chatting, but after bringing coffee and water when we arrived, nobody looked our way. At the 20-minute mark we had to flag someone down for refills. It didn't feel like the individual staff members were to blame so much as a lack of training from management. And then they charged a mandatory 20% tip. The nerve.

It's a fine hotel, with friendly, helpful staff, beautiful smells, good views, and nearby self-parking. The interior design is amazing and wild. The room had several annoyances: no central AC, just a weak and very loud window unit in the suite. The unit in the window above us dripped and tapped constantly. The dimmers didn't work, the water pressure was low, and there wasn't even one powerful lamp. There were no TV apps or casting either.

My room at Hotel Ulysses was a comfortable retreat after exploring the city. It was spacious, spotless, and beautifully decorated, with elegant furnishings and thoughtful details. The bed was plush, I slept well, and the view from the window was breathtaking. The on-site restaurant served a great breakfast, and the dining room's atmosphere and attentive service made meals a pleasure. Throughout the stay, the staff were friendly and accommodating, always ready to help with a smile. Their warm welcome set a positive tone from the start. I was impressed by the hotel's ambiance, design, service, and prime location. Hotel Ulysses exceeded my expectations, and I'd happily recommend it to anyone visiting Baltimore. I can't wait to return.

Hotel Ulysses is such a beautiful space. I love the design choices and details, the overall vibe is great, and the staff are friendly. It's also a convenient home base for exploring the Inner Harbor area. We walked to the National Aquarium, and it was a nice stroll. The bars on site, Bloom’s and The Coral Wig, and the restaurant and cafe, Ash-Bar, are just as impressive as the hotel and have delicious offerings. The location is great too. Highly recommend staying here, you won't regret it!
