The man who checked me in was nice enough, and the room was large with a very comfortable bed. That’s about where the good parts ended. The room had a long stress crack running along the floor, up and across the ceiling, and continuing from the bedroom into the living area. Another crack was above the bedroom door, and the frame seemed compressed enough that the door wouldn’t close. With my wife very ill and needing rest, I didn’t ask to move, though otherwise I probably would have. The large room was nice, but its condition and amenities weren’t. Those structural concerns made the other small issues harder to overlook. The place also felt empty and lacked atmosphere, and it didn’t have basic amenities I’d expect at larger chains, despite calling itself a boutique hotel. I struggle to see how it qualifies as four star. I know some people may love it, but one stay was enough for me. I don’t plan to book again or recommend it to anyone I know.

The HVAC removes all pollens and allergens, which is an important plus. The rooms are roomy and comfortable, with classy-looking furniture and decor that’s comfortable too. The bed was absurdly comfortable. No complaints, it was a fabulous hotel. Kids would be fine here, though I think it’s better suited to a romantic getaway.

The place is older and has a homey feel, but it was perfect for me. John checked us in, was funny and very nice, and suggested a few places to visit. Our room was apartment-sized, and the jacuzzi was just right for two. I really enjoyed staying there.

The one night porter was the only staff member who seemed capable. Everyone else was a complete mess, a word I never thought I’d need again. The place is extremely spacious, but tries way too hard to be “niche.” Our room was missing important listed features, and several things were broken or only partly working. Service? What service? Don’t pay full price or you’ll be angry about the experience. I’m glad we got to try it at a discount. They should start with the basics of good service.

We arrived at 4 a.m. after traveling all day. All the doors were locked except for a guy at a small desk. He came to the door and just said, “yes,” which threw me off. I was checking into a hotel, but it felt more like dealing with a security guard in an office building. I asked where to park, and he said street parking was the only option, but we’d have to move the car by 8 a.m. It was so late that I just wanted to get to bed. The room was freezing, and the concrete floors didn’t help. We called down for heat, waited twenty minutes, and still had none, so we checked out and went somewhere else. It’s been a week of back and forth and I still haven’t gotten a refund. They also told me I should have called to say I was arriving late if I wanted a warm room. I would never recommend this hotel.
