The room was over 90 degrees outside and its little window AC didn’t work. On top of that, the fire alarm started beeping at 6:30 a.m. because its battery was dead or dying. The front desk said maintenance would handle it when they came in, but it was still going at 6 p.m. I had to go back downstairs, and the employee gave me attitude. Someone finally changed the batteries at 7 p.m., after I’d spent the day without sleep. The rest of the room was just as bad. The bathroom was disgusting, the sheets were dirty, and there was hair on the towels. There was no toilet paper backup, so I went to the desk for some and a fresh towel, which was dirty too. I never got a TV remote, even after asking for two days. The floor smelled like weed, and the front desk staff were rude. I travel a lot, and this was the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I’d give it no stars if I could. Never again.

We had a great first visit to Baltimore for a concert and some sightseeing. The Quality Inn was an easy walk from where we needed to go, and I could see the skyline building with the tall tower and flag right from our window. Our room had a layout I really liked, and the drapery was nice. We slept well and had no problems. Staff were helpful and friendly. Just plan for the garage in the next building over, which costs $15 a day. Thanks for a lovely stay, we’d come back.

The room was dirty, and I found black hairs all over the bathroom. The area around the hotel also seemed a little sketchy, and the online pictures gave a misleading impression. The front desk made the stay unbearable. The staff had awful attitudes and couldn’t tell us where to park. One woman even argued with a customer in front of me over the same question, and she was rude and unprofessional. The woman who barely checked us in never gave her name, so I couldn’t report her specifically to management. Given how little care they showed about hospitality, I doubt management would do much anyway. I wouldn’t recommend staying here. I don’t even want to give it one star.

We paid $178 for a safe place to sleep, but I spent the night watching the door because I didn’t feel safe. We’d already been given keys to two occupied rooms. First, room 701’s door was latched open, and inside the bed was unmade, so I couldn’t tell whether someone was staying there. Then we tried room 304 and found a man getting up from the bed. He and his partner said they’d first been sent to 302, which was uncleaned, before being moved. Another woman at the desk seemed to be having the same problem. The third key finally worked. We put out the do not disturb sign, went to dinner, and worried about our belongings the whole time. At bedtime we used both locks, but I still stayed awake in case someone else got a key and came in. I tried calling the manager five times. Four times the voicemail was full; when she finally answered, she said she’d get back to me. I’m still waiting. On Sunday I called after being told she’d be in at 11:30, only to hear that she wasn’t coming in. The manager on duty was supposedly in a meeting. That seemed hard to believe, though maybe he is very committed to his job. The whole experience suggests otherwise. Customer care offered a voucher for a future stay at a Choice hotel after I explained what happened, but that doesn’t fix this. I’ll avoid Choice hotels. We checked in Saturday at 6 p.m., and this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Stay away, and lock your doors.
