The bed was GRRREAAAT, and the room's art deco-meets-minimalist look was really attractive. Internet and television were easy to use. The only thing that bothered me was part of the shower head, which had no proper place and just dangled into the shower. My husband and I needed somewhere to stay after the furnace in our apartment stopped working and our landlord took their time getting it repaired. Hotel Brexton came through on service, hospitality, and room comfort. The staff were extremely helpful, especially Terrell. They communicated quickly, knew what options we had, and managed to work with us fairly even while our landlord was being difficult. The location is very central, and the price felt affordable for what they offer. It was a nice stay.

The wedding was 3/6-3/8, and I had booked a room in the wedding block months earlier. Then on 3/3 I woke up to a text and email saying, without explanation, that my reservation for that weekend had been cancelled. I called the hotel to ask what had happened, but couldn't speak to anyone or leave a message because the inbox was full. It's unprofessional, and I feel awful for the bride and groom, who had to scramble two days before their wedding to find another decent hotel for a group, with many guests coming from out of town. They didn't need that stress, especially while trying to find rooms that weren't $500 a night or more. It's bad enough that the hotel cancelled on us and the couple, but they gave no notice and no suggestions for somewhere else to stay. From what I understand, the area isn't the best, and figuring out where to stay when you're unfamiliar with it is difficult.

My son arrived at 9:30 p.m. on 2/19/2026 with a confirmed reservation, but the front doors were locked and the property seemed deserted. He spent 50 minutes outside late at night, ringing the bell and calling the hotel's direct number repeatedly. Nobody answered, and calls went straight to voicemail. When I finally got through to the general reservations line, they said someone had cancelled the booking. We absolutely had not. Leaving him outside a locked building with no staff there to help was unacceptable and unprofessional. He had a horrific experience and will never book here again. If you need to know you'll have a bed and care about your safety, don't book this hotel. It's unreliable and offers no customer support when something goes wrong.

My second visit wasn't nearly as pleasant as the first, which I loved a few years ago. Maybe that stay was before the place became a Wyndham property. This time my room smelled like mold and urine, and the furniture was worn, with stains all over the couch. There was no hand soap, and unlike my previous visit, the drawers that had K-cups and coffee fixings were empty.

The location is great if you're going to the symphony, and the hotel is cute, with plenty of potential. The rooms are spacious enough, and the bed was comfortable. Still, no heat in January and no hot water are deal breakers for me. Cold air poured in through the bathroom window. My daughter and I stayed at the Brexton on 1/2/2026. When I booked online, it said I wouldn't be charged until check-in. The day before we left, I got a notice that my card had been charged $50 more than the quoted price. I called the hotel right away, but they said they could see nothing on their end and told me to call customer service. Customer service was entirely automated. Without a case number, I couldn't continue the call and was hung up on. When we arrived, it wasn't clear where to park, so we went inside to ask about street parking. The front door wouldn't open, and after nearly wrenching our shoulders trying it, we noticed a buzzer on the left-hand wall. A small sign on the door would have helped. The desk clerk didn't know about street parking in front of the hotel, but did tell us about two more hotel spaces accessed from around the block. I asked again about the extra $50 and was told it was for incidentals. That seemed odd since there's nowhere to spend money in the hotel: no minibar, restaurant, or snacks for sale. The clerk said it would be refunded in 7-10 business days. The room was cold as soon as we got in. We tried the thermostat and heating unit, but couldn't get warm air for more than a few seconds. We sat in our puffy jackets under a spare sheet from the closet, then went down to ask if there was a trick to keeping the heat on. There wasn't. The clerk offered two extra blankets and a very small space heater. We were afraid to leave it on overnight in case of a fire. I hoped an in-room Kuerig coffee might help, but there was just one pod for both of us. My daughter said the shower water was only lukewarm. I thought that would be fine because I don't like hot showers, but it really was only lukewarm. There was no floor mat, so I put the one hand towel on the tile to avoid slipping. The next morning, the free continental breakfast consisted of three croissants, three pieces of sweet bread, a few mini muffins, and a Kuerig. They had pods, but we didn't know how many guests still needed breakfast, so we took very little. I booked because it was a Wyndham hotel and thought that meant something. Apparently not.
