The location is the one real plus: it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the Inner Harbor, and aquarium tickets come with a $10 discount. Everything else made me feel like I'd been misled by fake reviews. This was easily the worst hotel I've stayed in. I checked in around 8 p.m. on the first night, and the room smelled strongly of cats. I had to fiddle with the door to get it to lock. The curtains and bedding were stained and torn. I checked the bed for bugs and didn't find any. I called the front desk twice, but no one answered. The next morning I found a cockroach in the bathroom and killed it with my perfume. It was left behind the bathroom door. I told the front desk, and the employee said she'd send a cleaner, but nobody offered to move us. When I returned from the city, the room smelled like cigarette smoke. The bed had been made, but the dead cockroach was still behind the door. There were loose tiles and mold in the shower, and the dirty, stained floor made me uncomfortable walking around even in socks. I also had to get new room keys every day because they didn't work properly. Please stay somewhere else.

The staff and security were so friendly and patient, and we really appreciated the free breakfast and morning coffee. My husband and I came for a concert in the first week of October, and the hotel worked out great. It’s an older place and could use a few updates, but it was very clean. The Inner Harbor isn’t right outside, though it’s only about a five-minute walk. We’re looking forward to staying here again when we’re back in Baltimore.

Read the fine print before booking. We stayed two nights while visiting family, and the parking deposit they charged was nonrefundable. Our room was short on bedding and towels, so I had to go back to the desk to get the rest. The hallways and elevator smelled like marijuana the whole time, and the carpets, showers, and rooms all need remodeling. For what we paid, I could have stayed somewhere else.

The room smelled awful as soon as we walked in, like body odor, urine, and mildew. The bedding looked clean but didn’t smell freshly washed, the carpet was gross, the bathroom door wouldn’t shut, and the bed was hard around the edges with a big dip in the middle. The room door opened to within two inches of the bed, so we had to go around by the headboard to close it. The door jamb also looked like it had been forced open before. There was cardboard over the outside of the front door window. From inside, you could see the hole was round, like a bullet hole. The hallways on every floor were in rough shape too, with large white patches that looked like they’d been filled but never sanded or painted. I booked through the hotel hospitality group’s app, and nowhere in the reservation did it say they’d charge an extra $100 deposit to my card. When I asked for a receipt showing it was a deposit, the desk employee said he couldn’t provide one until checkout. It’ll take 5-7 days for the charge to come off my card. We didn’t even try the free breakfast buffet after seeing the room. You’d be better off parking in a garage and sleeping in your car. DON’T STAY HERE.

The room was nice, the beds were comfortable, and the hotel let us check in early. We also used the $20-per-person round-trip shuttle to the cruise port, but a mix-up between the hotel and shuttle nearly made us miss boarding. Breakfast was bad. The eggs weren’t fully cooked, and nobody cleaned up while people were eating, so it was very messy. The biggest problem came when we returned for the night we’d booked after the cruise. We were told the hotel would be closed for the next month and that they’d moved us to the hotel next door. That was really inconvenient, and they should have let us know ahead of time.
