SpringHill Suites by Marriott Baltimore Downtown Convention Center Area

The area around the hotel felt a little sketchy. We were advised not to head left because it could be dangerous, while walking to the right felt safer. The room was clean, and Kevin at the front desk was really nice and helpful during my stay. I think his title was front desk supervisor, and he was about 55/60, an African American man. I had a good stay.

The place is clean, fairly priced, and conveniently located, though check-in took soooo long. It has the basics, so don’t expect a luxurious or especially cozy stay. Breakfast was okay, and the waffle maker was a nice extra. The shared area with the bar was clean and pleasant for getting work done, kind of like a cafe.

The room was clean and the hotel itself was very nice, but the front desk staff were curt and rude. People across most of Baltimore were friendly, so the desk’s attitude felt especially strange. They made me feel like I was bothering them just by checking in. I’d say “have a good day” and then feel like a chump when no one replied.

The hotel was in good shape and very clean, and our Dbl Queen room was spacious and comfortable. Check-in went smoothly. The continental breakfast was better than average, with waffles you make yourself, bagels, sausage, eggs, toast, juice, coffee, tea, fruit, and yogurt. It’s a convenient spot, minutes from Camden Yards, Convention Center, Arenas, restaurants including the Lexington Market, and The Inner Harbor. The neighborhood to the north is VERY "urban," which could feel uncomfortable if you’re not used to inner-city living. Security staff were around, and I see that as an issue with the adjoining neighborhood rather than the hotel. We had a great stay over the New Year's holiday and would return if time and opportunity allow.
