The hotel feels very safe, with security in the elevators and around the property, and everyone was very nice and accommodating. Staff were happy to answer questions, and room service was quite good. The gym is good for a hotel, with weights, cardio machines and water available. If you follow a specific workout routine, you may need to bring your own equipment. They don't leave much soap or toilet paper in the rooms, so be specific when asking for what you need.

Isha and Ivana at the morning front desk were incredibly kind and helpful. They deserve five stars. The hotel feels safe, the rooms are clean enough, and the bed is comfortable. They're very small, as expected in NYC. The breakfast needs work. The food is low quality, especially the very basic cheese and turkey breast. Hallways are dirty and need better vacuuming. The bathroom isn't heated, so keep its door closed or the room loses its warmth, and the heater is extremely loud, as other reviews say. The elevators keep failing. There's no service elevator, so staff use them constantly, adding cargo to an already unreliable machine. They also often leave cleaning supplies right outside the elevator, which is unbelievably wrong.

The desk staff and bartender were nice, but our cleaner was very rude and yelled at us when we asked to get the door opened after leaving our key card inside. The rooms were clean, though extremely small. There's no view, just another building with big windows, so we had to keep the curtains closed. The walk to the subway is about 11-13 minutes, and the hotel feels secluded. There were lots of druggies along the route. If you're planning to take the subway everywhere, this might not be the place for you. The AC was very loud and its temperature control was terrible.

The free hot breakfast was a nice extra, and on weekends it ran until 9:30. There were eggs, waffles, sausage, bagels, fruit, cereal and more. We also found several good food options within a short walk, including The Greek Kitchen, which I highly recommend. The location was quiet and good value, about a 10-minute walk from Columbus Circle. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our three-night stay, and the property was clean with the core amenities we wanted for a family trip. We'd stay again. A couple of glitches kept this from a five-star rating. Housekeeping kept odd hours, though maybe that was just us, and didn't come until 7 p.m. on the day we needed them. The room Wi-Fi also cut us off the night before checkout, saying we'd used up the free time for the trip. I'm sure that was somewhere in the fine print.
