The Vaquero Motel

Tracy was such a treat, and she was helpful from the start to the end of our stay. My husband and I came all the way from Florida to spend some time in Hill Country, and her dining tips were spot on: breakfast at OST and dinner at the Old Forge. She also gave us an entertainment guide with local events and things to do. We picked up a jar of pickles at the fickle pickle and wonderful ice cream at the General store, both within walking distance. Calling this place a motel doesn’t do it justice. It’s gorgeous, thoughtfully decorated, and even has games. We stayed in the farmhouse, with its beautiful original hardwood floors. The bed gave me the best night’s sleep I’ve had while pregnant. I loved every day, hour, minute, and second here. If you’re in Bandera or nearby, it’s worth the drive, money, and time.

After a ten-hour drive, this was the perfect place to rest. The room was huge, with a big bed, very hot water, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee station, and paper towels, which are often missing in motel rooms. You can tell the property is well cared for. I noticed a BBQ, roping area with lariats, corn hole, and a fire pit outside, though I didn’t use them. The ducks were very amusing.

Tracy is amazing, and this is such a cute place to stay in Bandera. The river is right there, and you can walk all around town from here.

A favorite for lots of people who visit Bandera. There’s a beautiful City Park across the way, right along the RIVER, with nice walks just outside town. It’s easy to walk into town too. The cabins are private, but work well for a big group, and there’s a large courtyard out front where everyone can gather.
