The location couldn’t be better, the Wi-Fi worked great, and the back patio was lovely. There were plenty of pillows, and the kitchen had clean, usable dishes. We called the room Grandma’s house because it was so cozy in an old-fashioned way. It came with a queen bed and two twin beds upstairs. Our poodle promptly booted me out of the little queen bed, so I slept upstairs in what felt like 150-degree heat. I really wish they offered a king. We laughed while trying to figure out the light switches, but got there in the end. The shower was tiny, smaller than any I’ve seen outside an RV, so both a big guy like me and a short person like my wife should expect an uncomfortable shower. The TV seemed to date from the early 2000s, and only one HDMI port worked, so I had to swap my Roku and the cable in and out. Those were the only downsides, and none was a deal breaker. We’ll definitely return.

The owner gave us a personal hello at check-in, and the Wi-Fi speed and strength were excellent. The rooms were clean and well kept, parking was adequate, and there’s beach access, dog areas, and excellent beach views. It’s a reasonably priced place to spend a night in Bandon, especially if you like the retro 1930s motor lodge style and glass door knobs. Cheers!

We had fantastic weather most of the time. When it turned cool and a little cloudy, we lit the fireplace, which was fantastic. It’s a lovely, clean place with super-friendly, helpful staff if you need them, and it’s mostly quiet, comfortable, and quaint. We’ll be back.

The room had everything we wanted and then some: comfortable beds, a clean space, a drip coffee maker, a fireplace, and a full kitchen. It’s right on the beach, with a walkway and trail down to the sand. We’d stay here again!

If vintage motels are your thing, Windermere on the Beach is a lovely choice. Some units go back to 1935. Our ground-floor room had wonderful ocean views, with Face Rock to the north and Haystack Rock to the south. It hadn’t been updated in a while, but it was very clean. Coffee and donuts are available in the lobby from 8 AM. We enjoyed the stay, though the Wi-Fi was very slow. Some websites we browse wouldn’t load, and many social media photos wouldn’t either. The room also felt stuffy, and being on the ground floor meant we didn’t feel comfortable leaving the sliding glass door open.
