Mint House at Midtown

The kitchen was well equipped, and we were able to make dinner while the city was shut down for what locals called a “snow emergency,” with less than a foot of snow. The view of Vanderbilt was nice, and the Mint Hotel is conveniently placed within walking distance of some major Nashville attractions. I stayed with my partner and his father. The photos made it look like there’d be a separate private bedroom, apart from the uncomfortable pull-out couch, but one dividing wall was unfinished and the other room had no door. My partner and I drove separately, so we had to pay for parking, which added up fast. We received only one parking pass, and no one replied when we asked for another. The Wi-Fi couldn’t handle more than two devices at once, so we mostly had to use our data. The A/C reset itself to 64 in the middle of the night, and we were freezing until someone got up to change it. It was a good experience overall, but the hotel has a lot to improve.

Our room was nice and conveniently located near downtown, and I can’t complain about it. But someone broke into my truck the first night, even though it was in a secured parking garage. There weren’t any security cameras on site. Getting the truck fixed before driving home to Georgia was a hassle and an expense.

We had a great stay for three nights in a studio 1BR. The courtyard was peaceful and relaxing for a midday nap, and the bed was really comfortable. The living area and kitchen were spacious and clean.

My fiance has lived at Mint House (Midtown Place Apartments) for four years, and found bed bugs in her apartment on March 30, 2020. This place has both temporary and permanent residents, and the bugs may be coming from a nearby airbnb. Management has made her pay for treatment, at $375 each time, probably three treatments in total. They have chosen not to inspect nearby units, which would force them to address and pay for the bed bug infestation. They go by two names because of a history of horrible management.
