Hampton Inn Bangor

Breakfast was the highlight for us, especially the blueberry pancakes. They were a delicious surprise and easily earned an extra star. We stayed a few nights and found the hotel clean, well kept, and in a great location. The price felt a little high, and some parts of the property could use updating, but the experience was good and dependable. A comfortable, solid option.

The hotel was clean and quiet, and Sonia, who cleaned my room for most of my stay, was especially attentive and responsive. I really appreciated her eye for detail. The staff did a great job plowing and salting after it snowed overnight, and the lobby floors stayed clean. Breakfast was the weak point. The waffle batter cups sat uncovered beside the iron with no sneeze guard, unlike the enclosed dispensers I've seen at other Hilton properties. The hot items were lukewarm on most days, and on my last day the eggs and potatoes were cold. The breakfast staff did keep the buffet neat and wiped tables promptly. I can apparently be a bit chipper, but I found it amusing how startled or confused many staff seemed when I said hello or good morning.

I'm a high-maintenance material girl, and I was happy here. The shower felt brand new, with lots of space and sliding glass doors. The Zero Naturally Kind shampoo and conditioner made my thick, dry hair feel like silk. The bed was just right, neither too hard nor too soft. The high ceilings, clean room, tasteful decor, and warm, gentle colors all worked for me.

I was sad to leave, but glad to have a place to come back to next time. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the rooms were gorgeous, with lovely bathrooms and a huge walk-in shower. The amenities were great too, including laundry service and a really delicious continental breakfast. Best hotel I've stayed at.
