A bus stop right there made getting around easy without worrying about parking, and the central but quieter location let us explore other parts of Bar Harbor away from the bustle. We had enough practical things for two people and a dog in our cozy room. It’s family friendly, with a picnic area, pool, swing set, and space for football or soccer, though a family of four or more should get two rooms. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We didn’t try ordering breakfast for the morning, but I thought that was a great idea. It felt nostalgic, like somewhere that would have made a happy childhood memory, and as an adult I found it peaceful and relaxing.
The bag breakfast was great, more than you’ll need, and the towels smelled like the best in town. Room was clean, laundry was nice and clean too. The bathroom was small, but it worked for us. Great location. I’d stay again.
Our room was clean, and the towels and sheets smelled great. The advertised continental breakfast turned out to be prepackaged pastries to grab and go. Also, the toilet in our room was so low that I think my granddaughter’s training potty sits higher.
The quiet setting feels like a step back in time. It’s about 8 miles from the Acadia National Park guest center and 10 minutes from Bar Harbor. Everyone was extremely nice, and the room was small but perfect for me. Breakfast was grab-and-go, and the gluten-free muffins were wonderful. There’s a pool and a sweet laundry room with a folding table, plus ice and vending machines. Tom tended the fire pit each night and set out chairs for about 12 people. They seemed to fill up every night. A perfect Mom & Pop place.
For six nights, the Belle Isle Motel worked out perfectly. It’s close enough to Acadia and Bar Harbor that getting there was no hassle, but far enough from the summer crowds to feel removed from the bustle. The price was very affordable, the rooms comfortable, and the staff friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend for a trip to the area.
