Acadia Inn

Cookies, hot apple cider, trail mix to pack for hiking, and s’mores by the campfire made this stay feel extra welcoming. The staff were friendly, and everything was clean, including the nice rooms. There’s bus service into Bar Harbor and back, and Acadia National Park’s entrance is under two miles away. We stayed three days and wished we had more time.

We loved the small extras, from making trail mix to s’mores at the fire pit, and having access to an Acadia trail. Breakfast was good and changed each day. The staff were kind and helpful whenever we needed information, and the inn also does a good job of being eco-friendly and has updated amenities. My wife and I began our New England tour here. The location between Bar Harbor and Acadia is a great starting point, and shuttles go to both. It’s a lovely inn, and I’d highly recommend it.

What stood out most was the staff. On our last day, our ride to the airport never arrived. When we told the front desk, two staff members immediately started calling around to find us another ride instead of just handing us a list of services. We made our flight on time because of them. We also saw them helping guests with a whale watch. Everyone we dealt with was cheerful and kind, and the service went above and beyond. The room was clean and comfortable, and the inn has plenty to do. We played Bingo and won prizes, joined a S’mores night, and saw staff making trail mix for hikers and whale watchers. Breakfast had lots of choices, including a gluten-free station. The Island Explorer picks people up twice an hour to go into town, which is just outside the town limits, and we enjoyed the 15-minute walk as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend Acadia Inn.

The beds were very comfortable, and the rooms have been updated, though they felt a little cramped. Breakfast was a nice buffet with fresh fruit, sausage, pancakes, and more. The make-your-own trail mix was a fun option. Most people seemed to start with plenty of M&Ms and then add a bit of dried fruit. Highly recommend.
